“Engaging Learners Across the 4 Cs: Creativity, Curiosity, Collaboration, and Caring”

Natalie Rusk
Research Scientist, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA

In a rapidly changing world, the ability to think and act creatively is more important than ever before. How can technology support rather than interfere with young people developing as creative, curious, collaborative, and caring learners? Natalie Rusk of the MIT Media Lab will share examples of how educators around the world are engaging students in creating projects to develop and express their ideas across multiple literacies and languages. Find out how students can use free creative coding environments, such as Scratch and OctoStudio, to create interactive stories, design collaborative language games, and more—combining words, images, voice recordings, and coding blocks to make their ideas come to life.
